Leadership Training – Report Indicates Top Four Needs

People have told me the “To Be Productive” (aka 2bproductive) blog is often spot on to their current business and leadership needs.  I thank them of course.  I will even admit that sometimes the bloggers here are even a little ahead of the curve when it comes to future leadership development needs.  That is enough bragging, now on to the real purpose of this post.

In a previous post, I referenced the EDA trend report on Leadership Development Needs and you can compare some of our blog labels to details in that post to see what I mean from the paragraph above.  Now, I want to share the training or mentoring necessary, which they referred to as “hot topics in executive development” within the EDA report.  Below are the top 5 training needs with links to blog posts, books, or articles discussing similar topics.

Hot Topics in Leadership Development:
  1. Critical thinking (46.2%), see also book in Strategic Thinking to Win
  2. Talent management (24.6%), see also book in Transitioning to Management
  3. Inspirational leadership (20.8%) see also book in 16 Strength Competencies for Exceptional Leadership
  4. Leading/managing change (16.9%) see book in Amazon #ad Managing Transitions: Making the Most of Change
You may also want to review our post on Getting Passionate Performance from Employees as it relates to the needs in previous blog post from EDA report.
If you would like to see a summary of the older 2011 EDA report so you can compare the changes, review 5 Hot Topics for Executive Development.
