Speaking Professionally

Below is an approximately 6-minute video on Business English by  It contains quick tips on how to change everyday English into more concise "business speak."  In most cases presented the suggested wording is more easily understandable in the professional world.  Many companies will have some of their own specialzed terms or acronyms (abbreviations or partial word mixes that can be said quickly instead of using all words in name or phrase)  that may also  be part of their corporate culture. 

However, the suggested Business English should not be confused with Technical Writing, which is the business communication practice of taking more complicated words and converting them into to more easily understandable terms  that most English speaking people should be able to understand (typically below 8th grade level).
